Meet Carly
Bringing accessible speech therapy to rural communities
Having been raised in rural Alberta, Carly has an understanding of the difficulties rural families face in accessing health services. Carly is based out of Genesee, in Leduc County, and offers speech and language services to Edmonton and the surrounding area. She has a particular focus on rural communities and towns, including Leduc County, Parkland County, Sturgeon County, and Strathcona County, so families don't have to make the drive into the city for support.
Her therapy sessions are family-centered and play-based, meeting your child where they are, in a space where they already feel at ease.
Services
Support for children ages 0–17
Carly works with pediatric clients from birth through age 17, offering therapy in the following areas:
Early Language Development
Including support for late talkers, helping build the foundations of understanding and using language.
Social Communication
Supporting conversation, story telling, and interactions.
Speech Sound Intervention
Improving speech clarity for a range of speech sound delays and disorders, including articulation and phonological disorders, as well as motor speech disorders such as dysarthria and childhood apraxia of speech.
Literacy
Building language skills to support reading and writing.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
Supporting language development through a range of low-tech to high-tech AAC systems, including speech-generating devices.
Infant and Toddler Groups
Supporting early communication and language development through parent coaching and play-based groups, with practical strategies for language-building, developmental milestones, and understanding the impact of pacifiers and bottles on speech and communication.
